Proposal for the Renewal of the Nations Cup Calendar
Proposal for the Renewal of the Nations Cup Calendar![]() ![]()
This information was left out of the article on season 54 changes. Let's see what you think.
This is not part of the development of the game, but simply a proposal we are making to all National Motorsport Associations. More than five years have passed since the last modification made to the Nations Cup calendar. So, to encourage a greater strategic variety and to make this competition a little more challenging we believe it is appropriate to replace its circuits.
However, as the choice of the circuits representing each country is an exclusive competence of the President of each Association, we would like to know what you think about it. At this stage, we have two ideas on the table: 1. Each Association will choose, by whatever method they consider appropriate (voting, consensus or direct election by the President), two circuits to represent their country in the Cup. The decision will be passed on to DebiK to make the necessary changes on the calendar. 2. Each Association will choose, by the method they deem appropriate (voting, consensus or direct election), a selection of between 4 and 6 circuits, which will be put to a vote for the whole community of the game. In case a tie occurs, the votes of the members belonging to those nations will be given priority over the rest. Regardless of the preferred approach, this initiative would be implemented from season 55 onwards. Countries wishing to do so could do it starting on season 54, but with only seven days to go until the end of the season, this may be a bit premature. Nonetheless, the option is there. At the same time, we impose two conditions: a) At least one of the circuits must not have appeared in any A1GP season to date. It must be completely new to the competition. In the case of Imola, Barcelona and Jerez, using their current variants will not count as a 'new circuit'. b) The selection of the circuits must be realistic. No ovals or unused variants. Ideally, we would prefer circuits that exist in real life, although depending on the case, exceptions can be made. We look forward to hearing from you in the comments to this article, both with your opinion on the idea and on the selection method, although all NMA presidents will be notified by a private message of the publication of this article. As we said at the beginning, changing circuits is NOT compulsory, for the moment it is just an invitation we are making and we hope you accept it.
Although I think selecting which drivers drive on which circuits based on their experience there is a strategy game itself for the manager of the country, I welcome the proposal of changing the circuits as it makes it more even between managers who's been doing NC for years and newer managers.

It's a good idea to change the circuits for each country, and if I can give my opinion for the vote, it could be done in two times :
1) choose 6 to 8 circuits or more and ask all other country players to vote for 1 or 2 (no French players could vote at this step) 2) keep the top 4 and ask to the country players only to choose 2.
I like the idea of having new circuits in NC. Smaller countries might not have that many realistic circuits. Therefore, I prefer the idea of presenting 2 circuits.

So I welcome the fact that new courses are being chosen for the Nations Cup. I think it would be best if each nation democratically chose two courses, which would then be forwarded to Debik.

I really like the idea of a renewing the calendar.
Personally, I lean towards option 1 and submitting two circuits for the Nations Cup chosen through voting for season 54. Already opened a new thread to gather opinions.
I liked this possibility of renewal in the Nations calendar.
As for choosing the circuits, I believe that the quickest and simplest way would be to directly indicate the 2 circuits. Therefore, I will begin consulting the Brazilian community, even if the path of option 2 is defined, I will respect the will of the community, including the chosen circuits.
I like the idea of one new circuit
First option. But I think, it would be better to change circuits every season.
I like option 1
Option 1 is good
I think it's a good idea to renew nations cup circuits. I have no strong feelings about the way to choose the new ones, but option 1 seems easier, so I would prefer that one.
National Associations are already able to change tracks if they want, so while it's nice to get a reminder, it's not nesseasery to make it a rule or prescribe it to us how should we decide it. Some nations can't even pick more than a hand full of tracks. This is why I am against any imposing conditions!
I also don't see a reason why we could race on oval in NC if a certain nation want to select it as long as they don't select two oval tracks.

Option 1 sounds good.
Option 1
The association will propose two realistic circuits for approval. I would like to race on three circuits. The third one would be chosen by the game management.
I like the idea of making it much easier to choose your own tracks as a country. Something in the profile u set at the end of a season or something. Instead of just picking a home track.
Either through a community vote or just letting the Prez select them is fine with me. I do lean towards letting the President select them just to make it easy and maybe even encourage more ppl to run in an election. I don't have a problem with Ovals being allowed or countries keeping the same classic tracks if they choose, but I would rather see some kind of parameters a track must meet to be acceptable for NC. A vote on this part could cause problems though with all the different populations and some having more votes than others, might be better to just allow any track unless we can all come to a consensus on what makes a track acceptable for NC or not. At least a limit of 1 oval or not just using 2 different versions of the same track is probably a good starting point.
Option 1 seems reasonable while still being workable and flexible.
The 2 conditions are also reasonable and offer both an opportunity for new challenges for participants and an opportunity to continue to use popular circuits.

Agree with the oval part...
Option 1 sounds easiest.
No problem with including ovals but agreed that there should not be two versions of the same track used. If you really want variety then include a rally course and a bike circuit.

I like option 1! Happy with the conditions but I don't mind the inclusion of ovals.
